Quickly Toggle Auto-filter in MS Excel

Who knows this cool trick?

Use this shortcut to activate a filter that already exists. Excel will then display sorting and filtering options.

Steps:

  1. Click in table header
  2. Press Ctrl + Shift + L

Note: You must be in the cell that contains the filter (the drop-down arrow) before you use the shortcut.

Everyone is familiar with a mouse wheels ability to scroll up and down on a page. However, this wheel can also do so much more,  below are some steps.

  • The mouse wheel is not just a wheel, it can also be used as a button. Pressing down on the wheel will act like a third mouse button. This can be used to open a web page in a tab by clicking the wheel on any link and can also be used to close a tab by clicking the wheel on any open tab.
  • It can also be used to zoom in and out on a web page, word document, excel spreadsheet, desktop icons etc. By holding down the Ctrl key and scrolling up to zoom in and down to zoom out.
  • Holding down the Shift key while scrolling up or down in most Internet browsers to go back and forward between web pages.
  • Some mouse wheels can be pushed left or right to also move back and forward on a web page.

Quickly Get a List of Installed Drivers

When you are troubleshooting, you need number of drivers installed on your computer but you didn’t get easily. This steps will help you to get the list of installed drivers on your computer.

Steps:

  • Go to Start Menu
  • Choose Run and type cmd
  • Command prompt window will appear
  • Then type driverquery
  • This will give you  a list of drivers installed on your computer

If you want to export the list to a MS Excel file as .csv format just follow the steps:

  • Go to Start Menu
  • Choose Run and type cmd
  • Command prompt window will appear
  • Then type driverquery /v /fo csv > drivers.csv
  • This will give you  a list of drivers installed on your computer in excel file
  • Now locate the directory and you found the drivers.csv file

Default directory is C:\Users\username
